Great Brand Allegiance Means Getting Personal

Apple. Coca-Cola. The Red Cross. Your local bodega. Multinational corporations, nonprofit organizations, and small businesses alike rely on customers to keep their doors open. The most successful brands know that meaningful connections help keep customers for the long-haul and build an iconic story along the way. Sure, they need to have a good product or service, but a good story can make the difference between passive customers and active brand ambassadors. Here's what some of our brand ambassadors have to say about us.

Katy McWhirter has been a godsend to our Music Row initiatives. She came to us when we most needed someone of her extensive research knowledge and expertise, going about the tasks at hand with unbiased precision, and in a timely manner. Under the intense spotlight of media scrutiny - both national and local, and in the midst of a highly-charged environment that brought together many, and often disparate, political, historic, business, neighborhood and community constituencies and special interests, Katy stepped in with great sensitivity and diplomatic skill.

From identifying, collecting and encapsulating much needed first-hand accounts from major music industry influencers of their pertinent memories of our city’s rich music history, to helping lead collective creative brainstorming and eventual execution of ideas to increase public understanding through access to the behind-the-scenes world of songwriting and recording, Katy was at all times the constant cool-headed voice and force of reason.

We with the Music Industry Coalition, the Music Row Neighborhood Association, the Historic Commission, and the citizens of Nashville owe her a great debt of gratitude for her fortitude and support. We would wholeheartedly recommend her as a valued resource and asset to any team that needs her kind of skill sets.

As a Co-Chair for Nashville Salutes – A Tribute to our Nation’s Heroes – I say without reservation that the script Katy produced for the Gala event was simply outstanding. The Gala concluded a four-day world wind of events held to honor our Nation’s Heroes and was attended by 28 Medal Honor recipients and nearly 850 other attendees who came out to honor the recipients.

The theme of the gala was the impact of the military on the history of Nashville and the script provided the structure for a full two hours of history telling that held the rapt attention of the attendees. It was thoughtful, educational and entertaining. To Katy I say – well done – for helping to cap off a very successful event in Nashville, Tennessee.

About Us

Heritage Creatives didn't start as Heritage Creatives.

It started long ago with a simple desire to understand the people and things that surround us. Founder Katy McWhirter's fascination with stories began in a small Mississippi town where her father owned a construction business and her mother stayed home with the children. In a family of introverts, stories were their greatest treasures, their countless evenings spent round the old oak table in the home her father had built from the ground up.

The oversized bookcases framing the study held treasures gathered through time, with each family member contributing favorites. The home with filled beautiful antiques – not the rarified possessions of wealthy stock, but the primitive pieces used by similarly practical families that came before their own. It was in this atmosphere that her love for stories emerging from history first grew. Whether it was the unaccounted for gashes in the English pub table or the mysterious ending to a box of letters between lost lovers, Katy learned listened for the stories of well-worn possessions.
